Ask a Choptank Health Provider: Fall Vaccines

Cold and flu season is here, and that means that other respiratory infections like COVID-19 and RSV are also on the rise.

Choptank Community Health System is encouraging people to protect themselves from the latest variants of COVID-19 by receiving the updated COVID-19 vaccine now available for adults and children six months of age and older.

In this episode of Ask a Provider, Avalon Foundation host Jess Bellis interviews Choptank Health Sr. Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer Megan Wojtko, DNP, MBA, FNP-BC. They discuss the latest rise in cases of COVID-19, who's more at risk, what's different about the latest variants, the cost and types of vaccines now available, and how you can find one near you.

Bellis and Wojtko also discuss how you can double down on the COVID-19 and flu season by receiving both vaccinations at the same time, and share advice on the timing of receiving vaccines for people who are at high risk or who have recently had COVID-19. RSV vaccines are also discussed, including for high-risk adult and pediatric patients.
