Choptank Health announces new pediatric provider in Denton
Choptank Community Health System’s Denton Health Center recently welcomed Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Samantha Hoffman, CRNP, to the medical practice.
Hoffman specializes in the comprehensive assessment and treatment of pediatric patients working in local, rural communities. She is certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
Hoffman received her Post-Master’s Doctorate degree in Nursing Practice and Master of Science degree with a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialty from the University of Maryland, School of Nursing, where she also holds a Teaching in Nursing and Healthcare Professions Certificate. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stevenson University and was on the Dean’s List while at The Catholic University of America, School of Nursing.
Choptank Community Health recognizes importance of health centers
Choptank Community Health System is recognizing National Health Center Week this Aug. 6-12 with the theme for the National Association of Community Health Center’s initiative set as “Community Health Centers: The Roadmap to a Stronger America.”
“Health centers provide preventive and primary care to more than 30 million people across the country, with services tailored to the needs of the unique communities,” said Choptank Health President and CEO Sara Rich.
Choptank Health offers women’s health and prenatal care
Women’s health and prenatal services are available to all Choptank Health patients at Easton Health Center, Fassett Magee Medical Center in Cambridge, and the Federalsburg Medical Center. Women’s health services are also provided to patients in Caroline and Kent counties, with prenatal health services to be added soon.
Services include well-women exams for cervical cancer and breast cancer screenings, prenatal counseling and treatment, gynecology/pelvic exams, STI screenings, contraceptive counseling, IUD and Nexplanon placement, menopause counseling, and more.
Choptank Health’s Tilghman Health Center to expand hours
Choptank Community Health System’s Tilghman Health Center is expanding to weekly hours to provide more accessibility to primary medical services for Bay Hundred area children and adults.
The Tilghman Health Center serves as an extension to Choptank Health’s Bay Hundred Health Center in St. Michaels, with Gregory Dukes, CRNP serving as the provider. The Center previously had been open every other Tuesday during select hours. New hours begin May 10 and are every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Tilghman Health Center’s separate office spaces are conveniently located at Tilghman Elementary School, with patients ages five and up being seen. Choptank Health’s Bay Hundred office patients and new adult and pediatric primary care medical patients are now being accepted, with appointments made by calling 410-754-0200.

Free children’s dental screenings in Cambridge Feb. 20
Choptank Community Health System is partnering with The Salvation Army of the Mid-Shore in Cambridge, Md. to provide free dental health services for children ages 3 – 17 on Mon., Feb. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Choptank Health’s Mobile Unit will be at the Salvation Army to provide dental health screening and health education, with each participating child receiving a goodie bag.

Choptank Health opens School Health Centers in Queen Anne’s, Kent Counties
Choptank Community Health System has expanded its School Based Health Center program into Queen Anne’s and Kent Counties with new centers opening at Church Hill Elementary, Sudlersville Elementary and Middle, and Rock Hall Elementary schools. The centers are made possible through partnerships with each county’s public school system, local health departments, and Maryland Department of Health.
